We are incredibly proud to share that Night of Blindness, the eighth feature film by Reis Çelik, celebrated its world premiere in the Main Competition of the 28th Shanghai International Film Festival and was awarded the Golden Goblet for Best Screenplay.

Following Night of Silence (Lal Gece), which premiered at the Berlinale and won the Crystal Bear, Night of Blindness marks the second chapter of Çelik’s “Night Trilogy”, a cinematic journey through stories unfolding over the course of a single night, in one place, confronting personal and collective memory.

The Turkey Germany co-production is produced by Anıl Çelik and Dilek Aydın and co-produced by Neopol Film’s Jakob Zapf, Andrea Simml and Tonio Kellner.

Shot in black and white by cinematographer Gökhan Atılmış, the film brings together Özge Arslan, İştar Gökseven, Hacı Ali Konuk, Nilüfer Açıkalın, Aydın Orak, Mustafa Kaçar and Yaren Şirin.

A huge congratulations to Reis Çelik on this wonderful recognition, and our heartfelt thanks to the entire cast and crew, our partners and supporters, especially the Turkish Cinema General Directorate and HessenFilm & Medien, for making this journey possible.
